Pensions Governance & Scheme Management Specialist - #2123972

I am partnering with a leading consultancy seeking a specialist to join their Governance and Scheme Management team.

This is an exciting opportunity to act as a trusted advisor to trustee boards and sole trustees, providing high-level scheme secretarial support and delivering technical governance advice. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary specialists including actuaries, investment consultants, and risk transfer experts—to support diverse clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering comprehensive scheme secretarial services, including drafting agendas, preparing board packs, writing minutes, and managing post-meeting action points.
• Supporting trustee chairs and boards during meetings while managing key client and advisor relationships.
• Implementing, maintaining, and updating essential governance frameworks, risk registers, and regulatory compliance documents.
• Setting, tracking, and monitoring client scheme budgets alongside senior leadership.
• Working across cross-functional teams to integrate wider consulting advice (funding, investment, and de-risking) for trustee clients.

Experience Required:

• Solid background in DB pensions, with direct experience in scheme management, governance consulting, or scheme secretarial duties (in-house or consultancy).
• Strong understanding of UK pension scheme operations, legislative frameworks, and current regulatory issues.
• Excellent relationship-building, project management, and organizational skills with sharp attention to detail.
• Professional pensions qualifications (or active progress toward them, e.g., APMI) are highly desirable.
