An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented US/UK Tax Senior to join a growing and highly respected professional services firm. This role offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients requiring both UK and US tax support, providing exposure to a blend of compliance, advisory and cross-border tax matters.
This is an ideal position for someone looking to move beyond pure compliance and develop their expertise through involvement in complex international tax projects, while working closely with experienced tax professionals in a collaborative environment.
The OpportunityAs a dual-handler within the US/UK Tax team, you will support a broad range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, internationally mobile employees, entrepreneurs, partnerships, trusts, and privately owned businesses with cross-border tax considerations.
The role offers significant exposure to both compliance and advisory work, allowing you to build strong technical knowledge across two jurisdictions while developing trusted client relationships and contributing to more complex planning assignments.
Key ResponsibilitiesUK Tax- Managing a portfolio of UK personal tax clients.
- Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns.
- Supporting tax planning assignments for individuals and businesses.
- Assisting with capital gains tax, inheritance tax and residency matters.
- Identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies and planning solutions.
- Preparing and reviewing US individual income tax returns (Forms 1040 and related schedules).
- Assisting with US foreign reporting requirements, including FBARs and Forms 8938.
- Supporting clients with expatriate and cross-border tax compliance obligations.
- Assisting with foreign tax credit calculations and treaty considerations.
- Liaising with clients regarding US filing requirements and deadlines.
- Supporting on complex US/UK cross-border tax advisory projects.
- Assisting with residency and domicile matters.
- Working on internationally mobile employee and expatriate tax issues.
- Researching technical tax matters and preparing client-facing advice.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with senior team members on planning engagements and bespoke advisory assignments.
- Experience working within a US/UK Private Client or Expatriate Tax team.
- EA, ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified or studying towards a professional qualification.
- Strong understanding of UK and/or US individual tax compliance requirements.
- Previous experience preparing US tax returns and related disclosures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Organised, proactive and keen to develop technically.
- Exposure to a broad range of complex US/UK advisory assignments alongside compliance work.
