Senior IT Engineer - Infrastructure - #2126376

Quest Search & Selection are partnering with a well-established, multi-site retail business to recruit a Senior IT Engineer - Infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing IT team, playing a key role in maintaining and enhancing technology across head office, distribution and retail locations.

The Role

As a Senior IT Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's core infrastructure while delivering projects that improve stability, performance and scalability across the estate. You'll also act as an escalation point for technical issues and help ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of Senior IT Engineer:

• Support and maintain IT infrastructure across retail stores, head office and warehouse sites.
• Lead the IT setup and infrastructure delivery for new store openings, relocations and refurbishments.
• Deliver infrastructure, networking and POS rollout projects with minimal business disruption.
• Provide 3rd line support and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Maintain and support networking, connectivity and Microsoft infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents, perform root cause analysis and drive long-term improvements.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and support operational best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the wider IT team.

To be successful in this Senior IT Engineer role:

• 5+ years' experience in IT Infrastructure or Senior IT Support within a multi-site environment.
• Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of networking technologies including SD-WAN, Fortinet, switching and Wi-Fi.
• Experience supporting virtualised environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of POS technologies, Microsoft SQL and FTP would be advantageous.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders across the business.
• Previous experience within a retail or customer-facing multi-site environment would be highly desirable.
