Chief Finance & Operations Officer (CFOO)
- Global Charity type International Non-Profit
- Remote | Occasional International Travel
Standard 8 is supporting an international charity in the search for a Chief Finance & Operations Officer. This is executive leadership across both finance and operations, for an organisation delivering programmes, events and initiatives at global scale.
It's a broader remit than a typical CFO role. You'll be accountable for the organisation running properly across multiple countries: financial governance, operational discipline and compliance, all in one seat.
The role
- Lead financial governance across multiple international entities
- Own budgeting, financial planning and funding allocation across global programmes
- Manage donor funding, grants and sponsorship income so it lines up with programme delivery
- Oversee global operations, where finance, admin and programme delivery meet
- Manage cash flow, payments and financial controls across multiple jurisdictions
- Ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory frameworks, including AML, GDPR and international financial regulations
- Improve finance, reporting, systems and operational processes as the organisation grows
Essential experience
- Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent executive finance leader
- Experience within a charity, NGO or international non-profit is essential
- Strong understanding of donor funding, grants, restricted funding and programme-based financial management
- Experience leading finance across multiple international entities and jurisdictions
- Strong knowledge of charity governance, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Experience operating in complex, evolving organisations, where you've built structure and improved how things work
- Comfortable working closely with Boards, Trustees, Executive Teams and external stakeholders
- A pragmatic leader who can hold financial control alongside the realities of a mission-led organisation
Desirable
- Experience supporting global programmes: humanitarian, education or international development
- Exposure to fundraising, philanthropy, sponsorship or institutional funding
- Experience improving finance and operational systems during a period of growth
- Background across international events, media or other globally distributed organisations
