Event Manager - #2130818
Live Recruitment
Hybrid working: 1-2 days per week in office
Expos drawing thousands of attendees, black-tie awards dinners for hundreds, and the creative freedom to develop both year on year. An Event Manager role where the events are the flagship, the ownership is total and every other Friday is yours.
- End-to-end ownership of large-scale expos and awards dinners
- Remote baseline: office attendance just 3-4 days per month
- Nine-day fortnight. Every other Friday off, year-round
- Creative autonomy to develop the events programme independently
- Proven salary progression in a flat, collaborative team
The Company
This is a boutique membership organisation operating in the financial services sector, with a small, close-knit team and a genuinely flexible culture. Remote-first working and compressed hours are not a trial here. They are simply how the organisation operates, and the whole team benefits. Events sit at the heart of what the organisation does, which means an experienced Event Manager carries real weight and visibility internally.
The Role
As Event Manager, you will take autonomous end-to-end ownership of a focused but high-profile calendar: a large-scale annual expo drawing over 3,000 attendees and two major awards dinners each hosting several hundred guests, with full responsibility for suppliers, budgets, creative development and on-site delivery.
- End-to-end planning and delivery of large-scale expos and awards dinners
- Sourcing, contracting and managing all event suppliers independently
- Budget management across the events programme
- Creative development of events year-on-year
- Venue sourcing, contract negotiation and on-site logistics
- Speaker and host sourcing and management
- Liaising with communications colleagues on event promotion and marketing
- Line management of a junior events team member
The Candidate
The right Event Manager will have delivered large-scale events autonomously from brief through to breakdown, managing suppliers and budgets without close oversight. You are organised under pressure and confident driving the creative development of an event from one year to the next.
Experience at significant scale is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is the depth of your end-to-end ownership. Line management or mentoring experience is a bonus. Candidates from membership, not-for-profit or corporate event backgrounds are all equally welcome here.
Roles that genuinely combine autonomy, remote-first working and a nine-day fortnight are rare, and this Event Manager position will not sit vacant for long. Get your application in now to secure your place in the process.
