An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and detail-focused Accounts & Royalties Assistant to join a successful and growing London-based business operating across both the UK and international markets.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. This varied position combines bookkeeping responsibilities, royalty administration, publishing systems management, and finance support, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Operations
- Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Raise and issue sales invoices in line with contractual agreements
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations
- Manage weekly payment runs
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments, and stock reconciliations
- Review supplier invoices against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
- Support the tracking and recording of production costs
- Assist with management accounts preparation and ad hoc reporting
Royalties & Systems Administration
- Administer contracts and maintain publishing management systems
- Upload and validate monthly sales data
- Produce royalty reports and prepare royalty statements
- Track and report on sub-rights agreements and related financial activity
- Work closely with editorial, rights, and production teams to maintain accurate data
- Identify and resolve discrepancies across finance and publishing systems
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within a bookkeeping, finance assistant, or accounts support role
- Knowledge of royalty recording, processing, and payments
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams
Desirable
- Experience within publishing, media, or a creative industry
- Knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software
- Experience with publishing management systems
- Exposure to multi-currency accounting and international operations
