Senior Investments Analyst - Chaucer Group - #2133868

Job summary

This role is primarily responsible for supporting the management of Chaucer’s investment portfolio. This includes investment reporting, manager oversight, portfolio management, investment analysis and risk management.

Main duties

Investment Reporting

1. Produce performance and asset allocation reporting to Deputy Head of Investments.
2. Produce investment related MI reporting including to the following stakeholders: CFO, Exec Team, Finance & Investment Committee, Boards.
3. Produce investment related reporting to China Re including all regular reporting and ad-hoc request.
4. Produce regulatory and statutory investment related reporting including Lloyd’s returns, group financial statements, local returns.
5. Ensure all investment related data in the investment accounting software and general ledger is accurate.

Investment Strategy

1. Provide an in-depth macroeconomic view for US, UK and Eurozone markets and related impact on investment products held and potential asset classes.
2. Carry out analysis and reporting, including scenario analysis, modelling the impact of changes to asset allocations.
3. Produce relevant papers seeking approval from Boards, Finance & Investment Committee, Execs, parent company as required to approve of any strategy changes.

Investment Risk

1. Manage the portfolio to the Investment Risk Framework and Appetite and regulatory restrictions.
2. Produce all investment risk metrics and related reporting.
3. Ensure all portfolios are compliant with risk and regulatory metrics.
4. Support the asset liability management process.

Third Party Managers

1. Support oversight of managers including performance, compliance, execution, and controls.
2. Support analysis for any changes in mandates/IMAs up to execution.
3. Support any RFP process as and when required.
4. Suggest and instruct trade instructions to investment managers or custodians, ensuring trades are completed.

Other responsibilities

1. Work closely within the Investment & Treasury team to understand future capital and cash flow needs and adjust the investment portfolio accordingly.
2. Work closely with the Risk Team for all investment related metrics and risk considerations.

Our requirements

Essential

1. Minimum 3 years’ experience working in investment portfolio management within financial markets, investment or insurance industry, having first-hand experience of Investment analytical reporting

Desirable

1. Lloyd’s of London investment management experience

Technical skills

1. In depth knowledge of investment markets and products
2. Excellent coding, Excel, PowerPoint, report writing, Bloomberg skills

Education & Experience

1. Numerically orientated - P/Q Actuary, Accountant or CFA (long standing experience will be accepted)

Personal skills

1. Highly motivated and confident individual with positive work ethic.
2. Excellent at managing own workload and working on own initiative.
