About Destination Education

Destination Education is a growing, boutique-style education recruitment agency with a strong presence across London.

We are a fast-paced, energetic and driven business, and we're looking to add another ambitious Recruitment Consultant to our team as we continue to grow and establish ourselves as a real force within the education recruitment market.

Working alongside a close-knit team of three, including two Directors, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact from day one. We're a business that believes in developing people from within — one of our directors started their career with us as a Resourcer.

The Role

We're looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join our Primary Education team, covering Primary, SEN and EYFS recruitment across London and Essex.

This is a business development-focused role. You'll be responsible for building relationships with schools, identifying opportunities, winning new business and developing your own client base.

You'll be supported by our existing team when you start, with access to our current resources and vacancies. As you develop your experience and confidence, you'll progressively take ownership of your own desk and move towards a fully 360 recruitment role.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to build something for themselves within a growing company.

What you'll be doing

• Developing new business with schools across London
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with schools and key decision-makers
• Making outbound calls and proactively promoting Destination Education from day one
• Identifying new vacancies and recruitment opportunities
• Booking meetings and school visits
• Managing and developing existing client relationships
• Negotiating rates and ensuring placements work within school budgets
• Working closely with the wider recruitment team to fill vacancies
• Developing your own client base and, over time, your own specialist desk
• Working towards agreed targets and KPIs
• Providing a high level of service and becoming a trusted recruitment partner to your schools

Candidate attraction and recruitment will become an increasingly important part of the role as you progress, but the initial focus will be on winning new business and developing strong school relationships.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is ambitious, resilient, hardworking and driven by results.

Previous recruitment experience is preferred, but it's not essential. Education recruitment experience would be advantageous, as would a background in sales or business development.

Most importantly, you'll need to be someone who:

• Is confident speaking to people on the phone and building relationships
• Is comfortable with business development and outbound calling
• Is motivated by targets and financial reward
• Has the resilience to deal with rejection and keep pushing forward
• Is competitive and genuinely wants to win new business
• Is ambitious and wants to progress their career
• Can work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Has excellent communication skills
• Is hardworking and willing to put the effort in to achieve results
• Wants to build long-term relationships rather than simply make a quick placement

Recruitment can be challenging, and this isn't a role for someone looking for an easy ride. You'll have targets, you'll hear "no", and you'll need the resilience to keep going.

But for the right person, the rewards can be significant.

What we offer

• £29,500 – £37,500 basic salary, depending on experience
• Commission structure discussed during the interview process
• Additional bonuses and incentives
• Top-biller lunches and other performance rewards
• Regular team lunches, dinners and social outings
• Full on-site training and ongoing support
• Regular one-to-one development conversations
• Monthly meetings and performance updates
• Reduced working hours during school holidays
• Genuine career progression within a growing business
• The opportunity to build and eventually own your own recruitment desk
• The opportunity to progress into senior/client management and regional management positions

Your Progression

We're serious about developing people from within.

As you build your experience, performance and client base, there is the opportunity to progress into more senior positions such as Senior Recruitment Consultant, Client Manager, Regional Manager and beyond.

You'll be joining a company where progression isn't just something written on a job advert — our own Directors have built their careers within the business.

Why Destination Education?

We're growing.

We already have a strong presence across London, and we're now looking to strengthen our team and become a major force within the education recruitment market.

Joining us at this stage means you'll have the opportunity to grow alongside the company, develop a strong desk, build your own client relationships and benefit financially from the results you achieve.

If you're ambitious, resilient and prepared to put the work in, there is no artificial ceiling on what you can achieve here.

Interested?

If you're looking for a recruitment role where hard work is recognised, performance is rewarded and career progression is genuinely available, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for someone who is ready to get stuck in, build relationships, win business and grow with Destination Education.

Start date: ASAP — candidates with up to one month's notice are welcome to apply.
