Senior Technical Services Manager

London | £110,000 – £125,000 + Package

A leading specialist contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Technical Services Manager to take a senior technical leadership role on a major commercial fit-out and refurbishment project in London.

The project is a £20m–£40m high-specification Cat A to Cat B commercial fit-out, involving a significant level of MEP coordination, design development and technical delivery.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Technical Services professional to take genuine ownership of the technical services strategy and delivery on a major project, working alongside an experienced project leadership team and some of the industry's leading consultants and specialist subcontractors.

The Role

As Senior Technical Services Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the MEP and technical services elements of the project from design development through to commissioning and handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the technical services delivery strategy across the project
• Managing the MEP design development, coordination and technical interfaces
• Reviewing consultant and subcontractor design for compliance, buildability and programme
• Leading technical coordination meetings and design workshops
• Managing M&E subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Working closely with the Project Director, Project Manager, Design Manager, Commercial team and wider delivery team
• Driving the resolution of technical queries, design issues and coordination challenges
• Managing technical risk and ensuring issues are identified and resolved before they impact programme or cost
• Supporting procurement and package strategy from a technical perspective
• Overseeing installation, testing, commissioning and handover
• Ensuring all services are delivered to the required quality, specification and statutory standards
• Building strong relationships with the client, consultants and supply chain
• Providing technical leadership to the wider project team

The Project

The initial project is a £20m–£40m commercial Cat A to Cat B fit-out, with a high level of technical complexity and specification.

You will be joining at a senior level and will have significant influence over how the technical services package is planned, coordinated and ultimately delivered.

This is particularly suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while still operating at a strategic level, with the credibility to challenge consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders when required.

About You

We're looking for an established Technical Services professional with a strong track record delivering major commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.

You should have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Technical Services Manager, Technical Services Manager, MEP Manager or equivalent
• Strong mechanical and electrical building services knowledge
• A proven background delivering Cat A and Cat B commercial fit-outs
• Experience working on projects in the £20m+ range
• Strong MEP design coordination and technical delivery experience
• Experience managing specialist M&E subcontractors and supply chain
• Experience taking projects through commissioning and handover
• Strong understanding of programme, commercial and technical risk
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• The confidence and seniority to operate with clients, consultants and senior project leadership

Experience of complex refurbishment, technically demanding commercial environments and high-specification workplace projects would be advantageous.
