College Nurse, South London, Locum, Band 6
Reed FE are recruiting for a Band 6 College Nurse to support young adults aged 16+ with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and associated health conditions within a specialist education setting.

The Role

As a College Nurse, you will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, person-centred nursing support to students with complex needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on healthcare planning and medication management
  • Undertaking nursing assessments and delivering appropriate interventions
  • Responding to medical emergencies and supporting students with complex health needs
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, reports and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Working collaboratively with families, education staff and external agencies
  • Monitoring and evaluating healthcare interventions
  • Supervising junior clinical staff where required
  • Promoting independence, choice and positive outcomes for learners
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with NMC standards
  • Supporting safeguarding, health and safety, and clinical governance processes

Requirements

  • Degree or Graduate Diploma in Nursing
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Experience working with young people or adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Knowledge of person-centred practice and multidisciplinary working
  • Experience contributing to EHCPs and outcome-focused planning

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
