The role: We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach on a new BSc (Hons) Business & Digital Transformation programme (subject to validation). Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends.

Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What you'll be doing: As a Lecturer in Business & Digital Transformation, you will deliver modules across programming and computational thinking, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, data and information systems for business, digital transformation, responsible AI and digital ethics, technology entrepreneurship, and IT project management. You will develop and deliver course materials that translate technology and digital concepts into practical understanding for business students, helping them critically evaluate technology and apply it to real organisational problems. You will undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met
  • Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate
  • Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
  • Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties
  • Understanding and keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices
  • Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and student progression

About you:

  • You will hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
  • You will have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area
  • You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of two or more of the following areas:

1. Programming and Computational Thinking (including Python)

2. Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies

3. Digital Transformation

4. Data and Information Systems for Business

5. Business Information Systems

6. AI Tool Evaluation, Comparison and Critical Use

7. Responsible AI, Digital Ethics and Governance

8. Data Analytics and AI-supported Decision Making

9. IT Project Management

10. Cybersecurity and Digital Risk (Business/Application Perspective)

11. Digital Platforms, Cloud and SaaS (Business/Application Perspective)

12. UI/UX

  • You will have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
  • You will have experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records
  • You will be able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
  • You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
  • You will be able to work with diverse groups of people

Desirable:

  • You will hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent)
  • You will have experience of design / development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent
