On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Finance Analyst for a 6-month contract based in London, hybrid.

Purpose of the role:

The Finance Analyst will be a key member of the Finance Operations team, reporting to the Finance Business Partner. The role is responsible for providing high-quality financial and commercial support across the geography, group, and/or portfolio, helping to drive strong financial performance and best practice.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, the successful candidate will build effective relationships with business and project leaders, leveraging financial data, insights, and trends to support informed decision-making. The role will contribute to the successful delivery of projects through robust financial administration, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and continuous process improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing transactional finance excellence while collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to improve business performance through data-driven insights and financial analysis.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Finance Business Partner in delivering commercial and financial guidance across the business.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and performance insights.
  • Monitor project financial performance and ensure adherence to financial controls and best practices.
  • Analyse financial data and trends to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes.
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support bid and work-winning activities by providing financial input and analysis where required.
  • Ensure high standards of project financial administration and governance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

The skills you'll need:

  • Strong project finance, project accounting, finance analyst, or finance business partnering experience.
  • Proven experience with project forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and financial performance analysis.
  • Good understanding of project cost structures, overheads, rate cards, billing, and profit recognition.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate, analyse, and present financial data effectively.
  • Strong understanding of P&L reporting and commercial finance principles.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience within engineering, construction, architecture, design consultancy, or other project-based environments is highly desirable.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or part qualification) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Suitable backgrounds include Finance Analyst, Senior Finance Analyst, Finance Business Partner, Project Finance Analyst, Project Accountant, and Project Finance Accountant.
