Audit Manager - Charities & Not For Profit

London - Hybrid Working - £65,000 - £80,000 + Exceptional Progression

As recruiters, we speak to a lot of auditors who tell us they want more purpose in their work.

They enjoy audit. They enjoy working with clients. But increasingly, they want to know that the organisations they're supporting are making a genuine impact.

This opportunity offers exactly that.

We're partnering with one of the UK's leading specialist audit teams within the Not For Profit sector. Due to sustained growth and continued investment, they're looking to appoint an ambitious Audit Manager or Senior Manager to join a highly successful and rapidly expanding team.

The client portfolio is exceptional, spanning charities, social enterprises, membership organisations, academies, care providers, arts and cultural organisations, international NGOs and other purpose-driven entities that play a vital role in society.

The work is technically interesting, commercially rewarding and genuinely meaningful.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This isn't simply another management role.

You'll be joining a market-leading team that has established itself as a trusted adviser to some of the most recognised and influential organisations within the sector.

The leadership team is heavily invested in growth and succession planning, creating genuine opportunities for ambitious individuals to progress. For those looking to build a long-term career, there is a clear pathway towards Director level and ultimately becoming part of the Senior Leadership Team.

If you're someone who enjoys developing people, building client relationships and influencing the direction of a growing business, this role offers the platform to do exactly that.

The Role

You'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of charity and Not For Profit clients, working closely with Partners and Directors while leading audit teams and acting as a trusted adviser to clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of charity and Not For Profit clients.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and trustees.
  • Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Reviewing statutory accounts and ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Providing technical guidance across complex assignments.
  • Working closely with senior leadership on strategic client matters.
  • Supporting the continued growth and development of the team.
About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who:

  • Are ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Have experience managing audit clients within practice.
  • Have exposure to charities, education, social enterprises or broader Not For Profit organisations, although strong commercial sector candidates with a genuine interest in the sector will also be considered.
  • Enjoy building long-term client relationships.
  • Take pride in developing and mentoring teams.
  • Have strong technical and communication skills.
  • Are ambitious and motivated by long-term career progression.
What's On Offer?
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • Potential for term-time working arrangements.
  • Exposure to some of the sector's most respected organisations.
  • Clear progression pathway towards Director and Senior Leadership.
  • Significant investment in personal and professional development.
  • Collaborative and highly supportive team culture.
  • Opportunity to build a career with one of the most respected specialist teams in the market.

For auditors looking to combine technical excellence, meaningful client work and genuine long-term progression, opportunities like this don't come around often.

If you'd like to find out more, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
