This is an expanding energy consultancy business based in London. They manage national energy grids, ensuring compliance with market rules. Operating at the heart of the energy sector, they ensure the market runs accurately and smoothly.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a talented Management Accountant to join their high-performing finance department.

Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will support in owning month-end processes, monthly reporting, and commercial responsibilities to help achieve business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

• Support the month-end close and reporting process.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and reporting.
• Analyse large datasets using Excel.
• Support budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Prepare reports and statements for sales and commission teams.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting information.
• Manage multiple reports, deadlines and priorities.
• Investigate data discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Support improvements to finance processes and reporting.
• Work with wider teams to provide accurate financial information.

Profile

The ideal profile for this Management Accountant position, should have the following:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA or CIMA)
• 3+ years of experience within a similar Management Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant role
• Strong understanding of month-end and balance sheet accounting
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
• Confident communicating with non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and working autonomously
• Strong double-entry knowledge and bookkeeping

Salary & Benefits

£40,000 - £45,000 plus additional benefits:

The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.
