Technical Services Manager

Location: London, with regular UK travel

Sodexo is looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead engineering services for our prestigious global law account.

Based in London, you will provide direct leadership to the London engineering team while providing technical governance and assurance across seven UK locations: London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Sheffield.

This is a key technical leadership role, responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and reliable engineering services across a high-profile corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop and support the London engineering team, ensuring strong performance, competence and accountability.
• Provide technical governance and assurance across the wider UK account.
• Ensure statutory compliance, safe systems of work and engineering standards are consistently maintained.
• Oversee planned, proactive and reactive maintenance, ensuring work is delivered safely and effectively.
• Manage technical contractors, suppliers and specialist service partners, including performance and compliance.
• Conduct technical audits, identify risks and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Monitor engineering KPIs, maintenance data, compliance records and service performance.
• Provide technical advice to senior Sodexo and client stakeholders on operational expenditure, capital investment, projects and service improvement.
• Support lifecycle planning, asset management, minor projects and capital investment decisions.
• Lead technical incident investigations, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote improvements in reliability, energy performance, sustainability and customer experience.
• Travel regularly to our sites across the UK as required.

What we're looking for:

You will have a strong background in building services engineering or technical facilities management, with experience leading engineering teams and providing technical oversight across multiple sites.

You should have:

• Relevant engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 5, HNC, HND or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of building services, statutory compliance and safe systems of work.
• Experience managing onsite engineering teams, including performance, training and development.
• Experience providing technical governance or assurance across multiple sites, suppliers or delivery teams.
• Strong knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance, risk assessments, RAMS, permits and safe isolation.
• Experience managing specialist contractors and technical suppliers.
• Understanding of technical budgets, expenditure, forecasting and quotations.
• Experience supporting lifecycle planning, minor projects and capital works.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear technical advice to senior stakeholders.
• The confidence to challenge poor practice, stop unsafe work and escalate significant risks.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the UK.
• Desirable Experience
  • Professional engineering registration or progress towards registration.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Experience with BMS, critical infrastructure or energy management.
  • Experience within a corporate, legal or professional services environment.
  • Experience with mobilisation, asset verification or multi-site service transformation.
