Finishing Manager – Specialist Joinery
Location: Hertfordshire / London & Home Counties

A well-established specialist joinery contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Finishing Manager to join their team, overseeing the finishing and installation of high-quality bespoke joinery projects.

The company works on a range of high-end residential and prestigious commercial projects, producing bespoke joinery where quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail are key.

This role would suit someone with a strong background in high-end residential joinery, who understands the standards expected on luxury projects and has experience managing finishing teams and installations.

The Role

• Overseeing the finishing of bespoke joinery projects through to completion

• Managing and coordinating joiners, installers and subcontractors

• Inspecting finished joinery and ensuring it meets the required quality standards

• Working closely with workshop, design, project management and site teams

• Ensuring joinery is installed and finished in line with drawings and specifications

• Identifying and resolving any quality or finishing issues

• Coordinating remedial works where required

• Monitoring progress and ensuring works are completed within programme

• Liaising with site teams, contractors, designers and clients where required

• Maintaining the high standards expected across all projects

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a strong background within bespoke/specialist joinery, ideally gained on high-end residential projects as a Finishing Manager.

You will need to have a good eye for detail, a strong understanding of joinery finishes and the ability to manage teams effectively.

Candidates who have progressed from a bench joinery or site-based joinery background into a supervisory or management position would also be considered.

Key requirements:

• Strong experience within bespoke/specialist joinery

• High-end residential experience would be highly beneficial

• Good understanding of joinery finishing and installation

• Excellent eye for detail and quality

• Experience managing joiners/installers

• Able to read and understand joinery drawings

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Able to work effectively with clients, contractors, designers and site teams

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established specialist contractor working on high-quality bespoke joinery projects, with a strong focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Salary: £55,000–£65,000 + package, depending on experience
