NEW AVENUES PARTNERSHIP LIMITED

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a technically strong, qualified accountant to join a leading, multi-award-winning Entertainment Group as a Financial/Group Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of Group accounting, statutory reporting, compliance and taxation across a fast-growing, creative business.

Renowned for its innovative work and strong industry reputation, the Group operates across the UK and US and continues to expand its highly successful portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and genuinely friendly finance team within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The role would suit a candidate who trained within a top-tier accountancy practice and who ideally has experience of working with Media, Entertainment or other creative clients and is looking to make their move into industry. Some post-qualification experience within a Media, Entertainment or Creative company would be preferred. However, strong recently qualified CA/ACA (Practice) candidates without the relevant Entertainment/TV/Film sector experience (1–2 years’ PQE) who has already made the move into industry doing a similar role and a desire to work within TV/Entertainment will also be considered.

You will need to be technically confident, with a strong understanding of Group consolidations, statutory reporting and financial controls. You'll be self motivated, with an approachable, engaging and friendly personality along with the confidence to deal with colleagues of all levels.

This is an office-based position. The company will consider both full time and part time applicants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly bank reporting, including Group P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and covenant calculations, while supporting internal quarterly reporting and rolling forecasts alongside the FD and FP&A teams.
  • Take ownership of annual Group consolidations and statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries, including associated tax workings, and act as the main point of contact for external auditors throughout the annual audit process.
  • Oversee key financial controls and reporting, including overhead cost reporting, audit accruals, corporation tax journals and reconciliations, as well as the filing of dormant accounts, compliance statements and other statutory documentation.
  • Manage key areas of Group tax compliance, including quarterly corporation tax payments on account, preparation and submission of VAT returns, P11Ds and annual PAYE Settlement Agreements, working with third-party advisers where appropriate.
  • Administer Group and intercompany dividends, Group recharges and monthly intercompany reconciliations, as well as acting as a payment approver for central finance.
  • Support ongoing systems and process improvements and contribute to ad hoc projects, working closely with divisional finance teams and the wider business.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally with 1–2 years’ PQE
  • Trained within an accountancy practice, ideally with exposure to Media, Entertainment or other creative sectors
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including Group consolidations and statutory reporting
  • Experienced in using CaseWare
  • Good understanding of UK Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE
  • Good knowledge of UK statutory and audit requirements
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Proactive and collaborative, with the confidence to work independently when required
  • Positive, motivated and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Please note that only applicants whose experience closely matches the requirements of the role will be contacted.
