About the Opportunity

Our client is an established UK consumer finance lender offering loans to customers that mainstream lenders often underserve. The business is growing and has a clear focus on fair, transparent lending. It is investing heavily in data, automation and AI as core parts of its strategy.

They are looking for a Head of Analytics to lead and develop their centralised Analytics function, driving efficiencies with AI adoption and providing strategic insight to the Board and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and develop a centralised Analytics & MI team supporting Finance, Marketing and the executive team
  2. Provide clear, actionable insight to the Board and senior committees, making sure analytical output is aligned to business objectives
  3. Drive the automation of key Committee and business reporting, and improve data structures across the organisation (Snowflake and Power BI)
  4. Oversee the Decision Engine programme through a Decision Engine Manager, ensuring changes are auditable and deployed safely
  5. Identify and adopt AI and automation opportunities to improve the efficiency and impact of the analytics function
  6. Prioritise and manage the workload across multiple stakeholders
  7. “Hands-on” technically whilst leading and coaching the team, setting the standard for best practice
  8. Build a culture of accountability and develop the team's storytelling and stakeholder influencing skills

Candidate Profile: Skills & Experience

  1. Background in Consumer Finance with proven experience leading an Analytics function (e.g. Credit Risk, Analytics, Insight etc.)
  2. Track record of driving change at pace in a fast-moving, commercially focused business
  3. Experience engaging at Board level and presenting complex analysis as clear strategic insight to technical and non-technical audiences
  4. A positive, forward-looking approach to AI and its use in analytics and decision-making
  5. Strong hands-on coding skills in SQL or Python
  6. Experience automating reporting and putting robust process and change control in place
  7. Calm under pressure, with strong written communication and sound prioritisation
  8. Degree in a quantitative or business discipline, or equivalent experience
