Meetings & Events Manager
Location: South Kensington, London
Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend flexibility required for major events and client visits
We are looking for a commercially focused Meetings & Events Manager to join a well-established 4-star hotel in South Kensington.
This is a hands-on role taking ownership of the full Meetings & Events booking journey, from initial enquiry and conversion through to planning, operational handover and event delivery.
You will be responsible for maximising revenue across the hotel's meeting and event spaces, building strong client relationships and working closely with Revenue, Food & Beverage, Front Office and other operational teams to ensure every event runs smoothly.
The Role
You will:
- Manage Meetings & Events enquiries from initial contact through to confirmation and event delivery
- Convert incoming enquiries and identify opportunities to maximise revenue
- Build strong relationships with existing clients and encourage repeat business
- Develop new business opportunities and support the hotel's wider commercial strategy
- Conduct client meetings, site visits and hotel show-rounds
- Prepare proposals, manage amendments and ensure all event details are accurately recorded
- Work closely with Revenue and operational teams on pricing, availability and event requirements
- Prepare and monitor Meetings & Events forecasts and business levels
- Lead regular meetings covering upcoming events and operational requirements
- Monitor client feedback and resolve any issues professionally
- Support and develop the Events team while maintaining high service standards
About You
We are looking for someone with previous Meetings & Events experience, ideally gained within a hotel, venue or similar hospitality environment.
You should have:
- Strong Meetings & Events and planning experience
- A commercial mindset with the ability to convert enquiries and maximise revenue
- Confidence dealing directly with corporate and private clients
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience working across multiple hotel departments
- Experience using Opera or a similar hotel/events management system
- Previous experience supporting, supervising or managing a team
- A good understanding of the London Meetings & Events market
- A proactive and professional approach
