Senior FP&A Business Partner
London (Hybrid) | 6-Month Initial Contract
£500 - £550 per day

We have partnered with a high-growth organisation to appoint an experienced Senior FP&A Business Partner on an initial six-month contract. Reporting into senior leadership, this is a unique opportunity to become the organisation's first dedicated commercial finance hire. The role has been created to establish and embed budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting processes, providing the insight and challenge required to support continued growth and strategic decision-making.

This is a highly visible position, combining financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, business partnering and investment appraisal. The successful candidate will have a track record of building FP&A frameworks from the ground up and will be comfortable operating in an evolving environment where finance plays a central role in shaping business performance.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will build robust financial models, improve reporting capabilities and provide meaningful analysis to support both day-to-day and long-term decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and embed budgeting, forecasting and planning processes across the organisation
  • Build and manage the annual budget, periodic forecasts and long-range planning cycle
  • Develop and maintain integrated financial models covering P&L, cash flow and key business drivers
  • Produce monthly forecasts and performance analysis, identifying risks, opportunities and key variances
  • Design and implement management reporting packs, KPI dashboards and performance tracking tools
  • Deliver clear and actionable financial insight to senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders
  • Support the month-end reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information
  • Build scenario models and sensitivity analysis to support strategic and commercial decision-making
  • Partner with budget holders to improve forecasting accuracy, financial discipline and accountability
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, strategic initiatives and business cases
  • Challenge expenditure and investment proposals, providing objective financial analysis and recommendations
  • Prepare reporting and analysis for leadership, board and investor audiences where required
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, planning and forecasting processes
  • Act as a trusted finance partner, translating financial information into meaningful commercial insight

Skills & Experience

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven experience within FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering roles
  • Demonstrable experience building or significantly enhancing budgeting and forecasting processes from the ground up
  • Strong financial modelling capability with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience developing integrated forecasting models and reporting frameworks
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences
  • Experience operating as a standalone or first commercial finance resource would be highly advantageous
  • Previous exposure to high-growth, project-led or rapidly evolving organisations would be beneficial

This is a high-impact assignment offering the opportunity to build the foundations of a commercial finance capability while working closely with senior leadership during a significant period of growth and development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how the organisation plans, measures and drives performance, leaving a lasting impact on the finance function.

Candidates should be available to start at short notice or within a relatively short notice period.
