Are you an experienced Commercial Business Partner with a strong background in Central Government procurement? Do you have a track record of managing multiple contracts and procurements simultaneously, utilising established government frameworks and commercial methodologies? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity for you!

Robertson Bell are working exclusively with a Central Government organisation to recruit two Interim Commercial Business Partners into their commercial function. One position will focus on general procurement activity for an initial three months, while the second will specialise in Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) procurement for an initial six months.

The key responsibilities of these Interim Commercial Business Partner roles include:

  • Leading multiple procurement exercises simultaneously, ensuring compliance with public procurement legislation and Central Government commercial frameworks.

  • Managing a portfolio of contracts and commercial requirements, overseeing risks, governance and supplier relationships.

  • Advising senior stakeholders on procurement strategies, appropriate routes to market and commercial decisions to ensure value for money.

  • Supporting contract management activities, including contract variations, Memorandums of Understanding and other commercial agreements.

  • Contributing to improvements in procurement processes, commercial assurance and supplier relationship management.

  • For the DDaT-specific role, working closely with digital leadership to deliver procurements covering technology, software and managed services.

The successful candidates will have:

  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple contracts and procurement exercises within a Central Government environment.

  • Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation, government commercial frameworks, procurement methodologies and governance requirements.

  • Proven experience managing commercial risks, delivering value for money and overseeing procurement activity throughout the commercial lifecycle.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise, influence and challenge senior colleagues.

  • For the DDaT position, experience of digital and technology procurement would be highly advantageous.

These opportunities offer hybrid working with an expectation of up to three days per week in either the London or Manchester office, although flexibility is likely. Both contracts offer the possibility of extension.

If you are an experienced Central Government commercial professional looking for your next interim opportunity, please do not hesitate to apply!
