Linux Support Engineer - RHEL, Shell Scripting, Ansible - #2187384

My client is an International Investment Bank who urgently require a Linux Support Engineer with advanced Red Hat Linux (RHEL) capability including Server builds, Satellite patching, Ansible Automation, Podman and Containerisation, with proven experience in a large, complex and regulated (preferably Financial Services / Banking) organisation.

Day Rate: £750pd (Inside IR35)
Location: London / Hybrid (1-2 days per week onsite)
Start: ASAP

Key Requirements:

• Proven Linux Engineering expertise in a large, complex and regulated (preferably Financial Services / Banking) organisation
• Advanced Red Hat Linux (RHEL) capability including Server builds, Satellite patching, Ansible Automation, Podman and Containerisation
• Strong Shell Scripting skills
• Capability to assess technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, OpenShift and Podman, and to develop Automation
• Ability to work shifts, availability to cover out of normal hours, weekends and public holidays for system maintenance and support duties, plus out of hours call-out support (including Bank Holidays) on a rota basis
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills, along with incident and SLA management and independent decision-making

Nice to have:

• Immediate availability
• Working knowledge of Solaris
• Experience of DNS / Squid web proxies / VMware administration
• Working knowledge of SAN and advanced Storage systems
• Track record of Linux and Unix Engineering in Investment Banking

*This role will require the ability to work shifts, availability to cover out of normal hours, weekends and public holidays for system maintenance and support duties, plus out of hours call-out support (including Bank Holidays) on a rota basis.
