Marketing Specialist - Consumer Products

12-Month Contract | London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consumer Products Marketing Specialist to join a globally recognised entertainment and content business on a 12-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing consumer products division, helping to develop and deliver retail marketing strategies that bring well-known entertainment properties to life through licensed merchandise and retail partnerships.

The initial focus will be on building the UK retail marketing strategy, with the opportunity to develop successful campaigns and approaches across wider EMEA markets over time.

We're looking for someone who combines strong strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to campaign delivery. Ideally, you'll have around 8 years' experience within retail marketing, consumer products and licensing, with a strong understanding of the UK retail landscape.

The Role

  • Develop and deliver retail marketing strategies and integrated campaigns across key UK retail channels, including grocery, toy specialists and department stores.
  • Build strong relationships with major retailers and licensing partners, identifying opportunities to maximise product visibility, consumer engagement and sales.
  • Create tailored omni-channel campaigns spanning in-store activations, digital, social media, e-commerce and retail media.
  • Shape digital marketing initiatives, including influencer partnerships, social commerce, sponsored product campaigns, SEO and paid media.
  • Work closely with internal teams, licensees, agencies and international stakeholders to bring campaigns to life.
  • Use retail trends, shopper insights and category knowledge to identify opportunities and inform marketing strategy.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and projects from concept through to delivery, taking ownership of timelines, budgets and performance reporting.
  • Champion the consumer products offering, bringing fresh ideas and commercial thinking to retail and licensing partnerships.

About You

  • Around 8 years' experience within retail marketing, consumer products or licensing. Candidates with slightly less experience are also encouraged to apply, provided they have the right level of exposure and capability. We're looking for someone at this stage of their career who can bring strategic thinking and ownership but is equally happy to remain very hands-on with the day-to-day execution and delivery of campaigns.
  • Strong UK retail experience is essential, with a good understanding of how different retail channels operate and how to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
  • A background in both retail and licensing is essential. We're particularly interested in people who have worked directly with major retailers or on the licensor/IP owner side of the business.
  • Experience working with retailers such as grocery groups, toy specialists and department stores would be particularly relevant.
  • Knowledge of hardlines categories, particularly toys, collectibles, games and homewares, would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering integrated retail marketing campaigns across physical and digital channels.
  • Confident managing relationships with multiple stakeholders, including retailers, licensees, agencies and internal creative and commercial teams.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, influencer campaigns and retail media.
  • Commercially minded, creative and proactive, with the ability to turn strategic ideas into practical, measurable campaigns.
  • Highly organised, with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
