What You’ll Do
The Strategy team at Vodafone UK play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's long-term objectives, driving growth, innovation, and competitive advantage in the telecommunications industry. The team leverage comprehensive market analysis, strategic planning, and collaboration with key stakeholders to identify emerging opportunities, anticipate industry trends, and formulate actionable strategies that propel the company forward in a dynamic and competitive marketplace.
The Senior Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role in the development of Vodafone UK strategy within and across functions within the business and will provide a continuous perspective on Vodafone’s strategic position in the market vs. competitors.
The role holder will lead specific strategy projects in close collaboration with commercial and technology stakeholders within the UK / Vodafone Group, quantifying trade-offs and developing actionable recommendations for the UK General Management Team (GMT). They will also proactively develop perspectives on structural changes that impact Vodafone's market position, supporting the Head of Strategy and Business Development in leading the annual strategic planning process. - Developing & deploying innovative methodologies for strategic problem solving, factoring in competitor actions and other sensitivities
- Leading and managing the end-to-end delivery of major strategy projects, developing a robust fact base and recommendations, and socialising recommendations with key stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders across Vodafone UK, major European OpCos & relevant Group Functions
- Developing effective networks for gathering information, hypotheses, socialising insights, and sense checking of emerging recommendations
- Keeping up to date on developments in Telco and adjacent industries and actively contribute to pipeline of innovative growth ideas
- Proven experience in strategic planning and execution
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Track record of driving business results through the development and implementation of innovative strategies
- Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Effective and impactful C-Suite communicator
- Action oriented with relentless curiosity to address ambiguity and uncertainty
