Job: Cost Engineer / Estimator – Infrastructure

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborate with senior cost and estimating professionals to develop consistent, high-quality cost plans.

• Independently produce detailed cost estimates and planning documentation for major infrastructure schemes.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members within the estimating function.

• Monitor preconstruction budgets and support change management processes.

• Conduct quantification activities and contribute to benchmarking and data collection efforts.

• Engage with cross-functional teams including procurement and planning to compile comprehensive estimates.

• Present and defend cost estimates to both internal stakeholders and external partners with confidence and clarity.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• Strong proficiency in Excel and similar analytical tools.

• Effective communicator with strong client-facing skills.

• Experience working with infrastructure main contractors – civil engineering focus preferred.

• Commercial or operational background in construction.

Desirable:

• Experience using Candy Estimating Software.

• Familiarity with RIB CostX for quantification and estimating.

• Understanding of AACE Estimating Class guidelines and principles.

• Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB, etc.).

• Flexibility to work across multiple project sites if needed.
