We are part of Reuters Agency, responsible for video processing and content distribution to internal and external clients (broadcasters). We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer, with excellent analysis and development skills, to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of unique solutions that benefit our customers.

You will be working in different phases of a software development cycle which includes analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, developers and QA Engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and enhance our business operations. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have excellent collaboration and communication skills. S/he should be able to work independently as well as in a collaborative manner with team members.

About You:

You’re a fit for the role of a Software Engineer if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or any relevant field that focuses on analysis and logical thinking
  • 2+ years’ experience on backend cloud-based applications (implemented using Scripting languages, preferably NodeJs/Python)
  • Excellent analysis/ debugging / diagnostic skills
  • Experience and understanding of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Pytest, Unittest, etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud services, preferably AWS (Lambda, Step Function, DynamoDB, Cloudformation, etc.)
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies
  • Much preferred - Experience working with and understanding of high-level language (Java, C/C++)
  • Much preferred - Experience using Docker (creating, deploying and orchestrating)
  • Preferred - Video knowledge and experience/understanding of ffmpeg


About The Role

In this opportunity as a Software Engineer, you will be:

  • Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable applications (primarily NodeJS, can be Python or Java/C/C++)
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standard
  • Identify and resolve software related issues and bugs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse software requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, to ensure that our applications are built using best practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes
