Residential Conveyancing Assistant / Secretary

The Role
My client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Residential Conveyancing Assistant / Secretary to join their busy team in the central London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced conveyancing environment, working alongside experienced fee earners on a varied caseload. Please note that dictation is not part of this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing full administrative / secretarial support to the residential conveyancing team
- Handling client onboarding processes, including opening matters on our case management system, AML, and compliance checks
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other third parties to progress transactions
- Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and handling telephone/email enquiries
- Maintaining accurate records on case management systems and document management systems
- Supporting post-completion processes and file closing procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Previous 12 months experience in a Residential Conveyancing Secretary or Conveyancing Assistant role
- Strong understanding of the conveyancing process (freehold and leasehold preferred)
- Experience handling administrative tasks across the full transaction lifecycle
- Familiarity with AML procedures and client onboarding
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable
- Experience with Land Registry processes and post-completion work
- Exposure to high-volume conveyancing environments
