Team/Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Corporate Treasury, focusing on the operational execution of day-to-day funding, liquidity, and cash management activities within our broker-dealer business. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of daily treasury operations, providing essential support to the broader Corporate Treasury function. The AVP will be responsible for vigilant day-to-day oversight of funding desks, meticulously monitoring cash and collateral positions, and executing daily forecasting activities. This position requires close collaboration with various internal reporting and operational teams, including Cash Management, Collateral Operations, and Settlement teams, to ensure continuous compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP) by providing critical operational inputs, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities and effective communication skills to articulate operational insights.

What you'll do

  • Daily Funding Oversight: Provide day-to-day oversight of funding desks, ensuring the operational execution of funding strategies and maintaining adequate cash and collateral levels to meet daily requirements.
  • Cash and Collateral Monitoring: Continuously monitor the firm's daily cash and collateral positions across various entities and accounts, identifying and escalating any potential shortfalls or excesses.
  • Daily Forecasting: Execute daily cash and liquidity forecasting activities, collaborating with relevant teams to gather inputs and ensure accurate projections for optimal resource allocation.
  • Operational Coordination: Work closely with Cash Management, Collateral Operations, and Settlement teams to facilitate the efficient movement of cash and collateral, resolving operational issues promptly.
  • Regulatory Compliance Support: Ensure operational activities are conducted in strict compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to funding and liquidity.
  • ILAAP Contribution: Provide critical operational data, analysis, and insights as inputs into the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP), supporting the strategic objectives of the Treasury team.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports on funding, liquidity, and cash positions for internal management and regulatory submission.
  • Risk Identification and Escalation: Identify and escalate potential operational risks related to funding and liquidity, contributing to the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of treasury operational processes, seeking efficiencies and enhancing controls.
What we'll need from you
  • Treasury Operations Experience: Relevant experience within a treasury or financial operations environment, with a focus on day-to-day funding, cash management, or collateral management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail, capable of monitoring and interpreting daily financial data and identifying trends or anomalies.
  • ILAAP Familiarity: Basic understanding of the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP) and its operational implications.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various internal teams and articulate operational findings clearly.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and PowerPoint for presenting operational updates.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment and build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • Adaptability: Capacity to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic operational environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
