Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Westminster Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Building Services Manager this role will be based at:
City Hall 64 Victoria Street, SW1E6QP, Hybrid Working

The right candidate will:

  • Prepare and submit Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications for Higher Risk Buildings.
  • Develop and maintain Safety Case Reports, Resident Engagement Strategies and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting systems.
  • Produce and maintain building safety risk assessments relating to fire and structural failure.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks and implement effective control measures.
  • Escalate deficiencies and non-compliance issues where controls are inadequate.
  • Create, review and maintain emergency plans for Higher Risk Buildings.
  • Liaise with the Building Safety Regulator through the designated contact.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations.
  • Partner closely with Fire Safety and Development teams to maintain the Golden Thread of Building Information.
  • Undertake building inspections and report on defects, risks and required improvement works.
  • Support procurement activities and contribute to client briefs where improvement works are required.
  • Provide specialist building safety advice across the organisation.

We require the following:

  • Experience working within local government, housing, construction management, building surveying, project management or contract administration environments.
  • Experience using compliance management systems and reporting software.
  • Experience engaging with residents, leaseholders, elected members and senior stakeholders.
