A leading IP firm is looking to strengthen its Chemistry team with the appointment of a Patent Attorney at an early stage of their career.

This is an opportunity for someone with a strong pharmaceutical background to take on a varied caseload, with a particular focus on work relating to patents protecting pharmaceutical products. The successful candidate will also have exposure to contentious matters and should already have some experience in areas such as oppositions, appeals or patent litigation.

The role would suit a Chemistry Patent Attorney with around two years of professional experience, through to someone with up to two years of post-qualification experience in the UK and/or Europe.

The role:

• Advising pharmaceutical clients across a range of patent matters
• Handling work relating to patents covering pharmaceutical products
• Building further experience in oppositions, appeals and contentious proceedings
• Working alongside experienced Attorneys on technically complex matters
• Developing and managing client relationships as your experience grows
• Working on a varied caseload across both contentious and non-contentious IP

Requirements:

• Chemistry background with relevant patent experience
• Around two years of professional experience at the lower end, through to approximately two years post qualification
• UK and/or European patent qualification
• Meaningful exposure to oppositions, appeals and/or litigation
• Strong experience working with pharmaceutical clients
• A significant proportion of your work should relate to patents protecting pharmaceutical products
