Financial Accountant

International Group | Fast-Paced Environment | Clear Progression to Finance Manager

London | Hybrid Working

£70,000 – £80,000 + Benefits

A brilliant opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant who wants broader exposure, genuine autonomy and a clear route into management.

You’ll be joining a growing international business where things move quickly. It’s a fast-paced environment that isn’t overly structured, so this will suit someone who enjoys variety, can juggle multiple priorities and is comfortable finding solutions rather than waiting for a process to follow.

You’ll work closely with senior Finance leadership across financial reporting, month end, audit, tax, controls and wider projects. There’s plenty to get stuck into and genuine scope to make improvements, challenge how things are currently done and put your own stamp on the role.

Importantly, this isn’t intended to remain a Financial Accountant position long term. There is a clear succession plan for the successful person to step into a Finance Manager role within 6–12 months, making it an excellent opportunity for someone ambitious who wants their next move to accelerate their career.

The Role:

• Own key elements of the monthly, quarterly and annual close

• Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements across the Group

• Take responsibility for statutory reporting and coordinate the external audit process

• Oversee statutory accounts and corporation tax requirements across multiple entities

• Support technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition and leases

• Manage wider tax and regulatory compliance across an international business

• Work closely with FP&A and the wider Finance team to improve reporting

• Strengthen financial controls and simplify existing processes

• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-moving environment

• Identify problems, find solutions and take ownership of delivering improvements

• Partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business

• Take on broader responsibility as you develop, with a clear path towards Finance Manager

The Candidate:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent

• Strong financial accounting, reporting and month-end experience

• Good statutory reporting and technical accounting knowledge

• Comfortable across audit, tax, compliance and financial controls

• Experience within a multi-entity or international environment would be beneficial

• Commercially aware and interested in understanding the wider business

• Comfortable working in an environment where there isn’t always a perfect process or structure in place

• Able to juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of what matters

• Solutions-focused, proactive and happy taking ownership

• Someone who enjoys improving things and wants the autonomy to make a genuine difference

• Ambitious and ready to progress into a Finance Manager role within 6–12 months

Salary & Benefits:

  • £70,000 – £80,000
  • Hybrid working
  • Strong company benefits
  • Clear progression to Finance Manager

Ideally, they’d like someone who can start relatively quickly, so a shorter notice period would be attractive. That said, they’re focused on finding the right person and would wait for someone on a three-month notice period if needed.

If you’re looking for a perfectly structured environment where everything is already running like clockwork, this probably isn’t the role. If you enjoy pace, autonomy, solving problems and having the freedom to make things better, there’s a lot to like about this opportunity.
