MARKET TALENT

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banking Cashier to join a high-performing private banking branch team in Central London.

This is a client-facing role within a professional, relationship-led banking environment, providing the opportunity to work closely with experienced branch colleagues, Relationship Managers and wider operational teams. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering an accurate, secure and highly responsive service to the bank’s customers.

The organisation is committed to developing the successful individual beyond the core cashier function, with training and broader exposure to operational processes and multi-product banking activities.

Please note that this is a fully onsite position. Due to the cashiering responsibilities, including the physical handling, control and reconciliation of Sterling and foreign currency, the role cannot be performed on a hybrid or remote basis.

Key Responsibilies

Maintain and operate cash tills holding both Sterling and foreign currency.

Process cash deposits and withdrawals accurately and in accordance with internal banking procedures.

Deliver a professional, efficient and customer-focused counter service.

Balance daily cash holdings and complete till reconciliations.

Ensure the correct approvals are in place for transactions exceeding applicable thresholds.

Support adverse-media, sanctions and World-Check screening relating to relevant third-party cash transactions.

Escalate suspicious activity or financial-crime concerns in line with internal policies.

Accept cheque deposits and internal transfer instructions, liaising with Retail Operations to ensure transactions are processed correctly.

Review account status and block codes before completing transactions, referring any concerns to the appropriate team or Relationship Manager.

Assist customers with the bank’s interactive teller and branch banking services.

Maintain the secure custody of debit cards, PINs and other sensitive branch materials.

Keep accurate branch registers covering debit cards, PINs and safe-deposit activity.

Support Relationship Managers with debit-card activations and other customer requirements.

Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to facilitate banking requests for visiting and telephone-based customers.

Assist the Branch Manager with cash-ordering requirements and the maintenance of appropriate branch cash levels.

Support management information, statistical reporting, record keeping and general branch administration.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally offer:

Previous cashiering, teller or counter-services experience within a bank or similarly regulated financial-services environment.

Practical experience handling and reconciling physical cash.

Confidence processing Sterling and foreign-currency transactions.

Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail.

A professional, customer-focused approach.

The ability to remain calm and accurate when working under pressure.

Good general systems knowledge, including Microsoft Excel.

Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

A reliable, flexible and collaborative approach to working within a branch team.

The ability to communicate effectively in Arabic and English, including spoken, written and reading capability.

Who should Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a respected private banking environment where service quality, accuracy and professional standards are paramount. You will become part of an established and supportive branch team, gain exposure to a broader range of banking activities and receive the training required to develop further within operations and the wider organisation.

The role would suit an experienced banking cashier who enjoys working directly with customers and is looking for a stable, visible position offering genuine longer-term development.
