Site Manager

We are looking to speak with experienced Site Managers to support a main contractor on a varied refurbishment and facilities programme.

The role will involve taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, overseeing one larger project alongside a number of smaller work packages and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Scope of Works

The successful Site Manager will oversee works including:

  • A significant scaffolding build and associated temporary works
  • Ceiling panel installations to facilitate a new Wi-Fi installation
  • Installation of external steps across three separate areas
  • Door replacement works
  • Minor facilities, refurbishment and associated building works

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations and activities
  • Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and company standards
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour on site
  • Monitor project progress against programme and proactively identify and resolve site-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with company HSQE standards, policies, ISO accreditations and legislative requirements
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety inspections
  • Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, progress reports, permits, inspections and quality documentation
  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, storage arrangements and site welfare facilities
  • Ensure quality standards are achieved and defects are identified and addressed promptly
  • Assist the Project Manager with programme management, resource planning and project reporting
  • Manage site communication with clients, consultants, landlords and other stakeholders
  • Support the commercial team by monitoring variations, site instructions and potential cost impacts
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with design drawings, specifications and statutory requirements
  • Lead site meetings and coordinate daily and weekly work activities
  • Manage temporary works and scaffolding activities where required

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Manager for a main contractor
  • Strong refurbishment experience across both internal and external works
  • Experience managing scaffolding and temporary works packages highly desirable
  • Comfortable managing multiple work packages simultaneously
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage site logistics
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • CSCS
  • Temporary Works Supervisor qualification desirable

The ideal candidate will come from a main contracting background with experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out, facilities or minor works projects within a live or occupied environment.
